Answer to 162 - Page 226, September/October 2012 ‘Journal’, Negative 19366.
The photograph shows ‘Black Five’ 4-6-0 44838 with an up freight approaching tring Cutting signal box, 33miles 76chains from Euston. This is the northern extreme of the cutting.
The photograph was taken by Frank or Ralph Hewitt in 1952.
